Welcome to The Echo Chamber Project

|

The Echo Chamber Project is an open source, investigative documentary about how the television news media became an uncritical echo chamber to the Executive Branch leading up to the war in Iraq.

By developing collaborative techniques for producing this film, then this project can potentially provide some solutions for incorporating a broader range of voices and perspectives into the mainstream media.

* Here's the Plan for How to Implement Collaborative Filmmaking
* Get involved by starting to listen to individual Audio Interviews or by subscribing to the Audio or All Media feed.
* Also start reading through the transcripts of the 86 interviews conducted so far.
* There are also other ways to volunteer and help out the project
* You can find the latest updates on the blog
* Some interesting press pieces can be found in this pre-preproduction cover story, this conversation with Madge Weinstein and this story & interview by Robin Good.

Television plays a huge

Television plays a huge role in this sphere. This is my first visit to this site, but I see many collected resources which could help anyone who is working on such simultaneous projects.

Useful infor's

It is helpful to know about television news media became an uncritical echo chamber. The link provided is also useful. Comments below are informative. Thanks!!!

My Personal Blog

Charles taylor and jack abramoff

From the above patmac's blog, taylor was playing double game. They didn't worried about the jack abramoff activities. The double standard is not possible, it falls in big problems with every citizens of the country. So Keep that in mind.

A Broader Range of Voices

Presumably, the "broader range of voices and perspectives" you're looking to incorporate into the mainstream media might also be looking for voices and perspectives to the right of Fox News?

There are certainly conservatives out there who felt sure that we should have moved much more quickly, and much more decisively, in Iraq.

There are plenty of conservatives who don't feel George W. Bush, or the Republicans in congress, are nearly conservative enough, by and large. Didn't hear too much from them in the media echo chamber leading up to the war in Iraq, so I look forward to the fair and objective incorporation of those voices into your broader range of voices and perspectives.

Best of luck!

geek tv episode

I just watched Geek TV. "Participatory future for the media"- right on! I'm only a vlogger but once in a while I write to my elected officials. I just watched a media documentary by Danny Schecter (Weapons of Mass Deception) last night. I've been watching all the media documentaries I can rent from Netflix. The problem with my doing this is that it takes time for them to get to me. I think your project will help get the messege out faster. Today , Seymour Hersh stood by his story that the president viewed plans for using tactical nuclear weapons for busting into Iranian nuclear bunkers. George W announced today that it was all speculation. NPR is saying the military generals withdrew the scenario but the administration insisted on keeping the plans. Anyway- good luck on your project, we're living in exciting times when information can help people.

good work

I am a video editor with twelve years experience on Avids and Final Cut Pro. I want to help you change network media. We are being lied to by the government and by television and we need to change that. Thank god for Moveon.org and people like you. Let me know how I can help.

It's all about the Fairness Doctrine

A wonderful piece was written on this issue that can be found here:

This would be a good addition to the issues you're raising.

Distribution and Finance

Just discovered your site. You have a very interesting approach. I have been working on the issue of distribution for alternative media video. The function of mainstream TV is to control the parameters of political and cultural dialog. There is plenty of great indy video being produced to challenge this control, but there is no effective method of distibution. I started Liberation Video (www.liberationvideo.com) to provide quick and inexpensive distribution via dvd rentals by mail. Online downloading is the next step. Financial support is just as important. People are willing to pay for alt media, if it can be delivered at a resonable price. If that price can cover the costs of production and distribution, and provide a living income for the filmmakers, then the alt media movement will reach it's full potential. I will have more comments as I learn more about your work. I apperciate any feedback on my work.
