I pitched my project to Brian Reich, the official Personal Democracy Forum podcaster, and we sat down for a quick 11-minute chat about the state of the Press and how I plan on applying emerging new media trends to the production of The Echo Chamber documentary. They're technically unsyndicated MP3s as opposed to RSS-embedded podcasts, but here are links to the interview & MP3 files:
In listening to this interview again, I realized that I should've emphasized a number of points that I didn't make all that clear:
I was able to make a lot of good points, but I didn't really have a PR strategy walking into the interview -- I just sort of went with the flow. Reich asked some of the most specific questions I've had in a live interview, and I didn't feel like I had my complete answer mapped out before I started speaking -- I guess this is probably normal. I'm still gettting used to being on the answering side of these types of questions. As a documentary filmmaker, I actually prefer to edit together what other people say about the media since they have more credibility and say it much better than I can. Speaking of Conference Interviews, I also got some exposure at SXSW when I dialogued with the Co-Intelligence Institute's Tom Atlee about emerging new media trends and how that can be applied to deliberative democracy. Unfortunately, SXSW titled the talk "The Tao of Democracy" which is the name of Tom's book and only half of our discussion. We talked for about 25 minutes and they edited it down -- I haven't actually watched it yet due to QT issues that will be resolved as soon as I upgrade to 10.4. Here are the links: |
